What’s one thing we wouldn’t learn from your resume?
I actually started my career on a mowing crew. That experience gave me a deep respect for the hard work done in the field, and it completely shapes how I lead and approach maintenance today.
If your winter garden had a theme song, what would it be?
“Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Winter is all about patience and waiting for those brighter months to arrive.
What’s your favorite part of a well-maintained landscape?
Clean edges and defined lines. They give a property that crisp, polished look that shows it is truly cared for.
One small detail you always notice on a property walk-through?
The cleanliness of the beds. I look for spaces free of debris and old growth—not just at the edges, but throughout the entire planting area.
What’s your “non-negotiable” for spring success?
A thorough fall cleanup and bed preparation. A successful spring always starts months before the first bud appears.
Favorite plant for winter interest?
Boxwood—for its timeless beauty and year-round presence.
When you’re not at HFG, where can we find you?
Outdoors or in the kitchen, experimenting with a new dish—usually while trying to wrangle my four-year-old son!
